Shama Vafaipour is an Iranian self taught photographer, painter and illustrator based in Sweden. Most of her works reflect the inner conflicts, cultural duality and the constant search for self-growth & identity that follows as consequences of being an Iranian in Sweden. Growing up in both Iran and Sweden has impacted her view of art and creativity. Creating works that represent that contrast & the meeting between these two worlds is something that can be seen in most of her art.

Shama is a multi-artist who likes to mix different types of artforms and mediums by for example using vibrant and light colors in illumination art paintins where traditionally are painted with more damp and dark palettes. Her inspiration has its roots in the need of introducing Persian art to the western world of art and she is specialized in modernized persian illumination art.
