A Creative Path Home is a group exhibition that takes its starting point in the significance of faith in the creation of contemporary art. What happens when we unite in the name of something greater, something bigger? What occurs when we create out of the love for our shared beliefs through the multiple languages that art enables?
In this exhibition, Muslim community, individual spiritual journeys, origins, and contemporary issues come together. All of this is sewn together and intertwined under the safe dome of sisterhood.
A Creative Path Home is an exhibition that has emerged from the desire and need to create spaces within the art sphere where the works, storytelling, and artistry of Muslim women are in focus.
In this exhibition, Shama presents, among other things, two of her largest works, where she explores the coexistence of the physical and the spiritual; where the esoteric is the source of the exoteric, and the exoteric is the manifestation of the esoteric.
